THE GYM

We’re a place to come and get to work for our members, a place to hang out for our members,

a place where the community and camaraderie aims to see all rise with the ride. We are strength, performance, hard work and community are the cornerstone of what Strong Geelong has been built upon.

Established in 2015, SG came about to bring something different to the Geelong gym scene.

Starting small in our first warehouse, it didn’t take long until our peak hour was a thriving oasis

of loud music, barbells dropping and people getting after it. So we went bigger, backed ourselves and now stand where we do today.

The Gym is locally and independently owned, run by Tyson Morrissy, 4x Australias Strongest Man under 105kg and former World Champion.

It boasts some of THE BEST equipment from around the world, whether it’s Watson Machines from the UK, Barbells from Texas, Strongman equipment from Stand or Submit. Our gym has been put together to cater for those starting their journey, to those at the highest level,

of which we have plenty.

About The Facility

Strong Geelong is one of the largest strength-focused facilities in the country and certainly one of the most well-equipped.

In the 800+ square metre warehouse, there’s almost too much to mention. Downstairs you’ll find performance, everything an athlete or gym user could need to train for Strongman, Powerlifting, Weightlifting and for all your Conditioning needs.

Upstairs, you’ll find endless pin-loaded and

plate-loaded machines to hit whatever itch you’re trying to scratch as well as our cardio equipment

to get your sweat on.

COACHING

Regardless of your goals, we have a wide variety of staff who can assist you in attaining them. Head to the coaching page to get to know the team! Once signed up you’ll be able to book a FREE FUNDAMENTAL SESSION to learn the basics of Squat, Bench and Deadlift.

PROGRAMMING

Whether it’s your first program or we’re preparing you for a World Championship, we pride ourselves on having some of the best minds in the game.
You’ll get some template programs from us after signing up, you can sign up to the “Strong Geelong,” program or you can approach one of our coaches to get a custom program to better suit your individual needs.

  • Do I need to be a strength athlete to train at Strong Geelong?
    Absolutely not! Many regular gym goers and newbies join Strong Geelong and learn a LOT in their time here. We have a team of expert staff who you can turn to if you wish to take your training to the next level. But if all the seriousness isn’t for you, this is also a place where people can get their sessions in with no distractions and lots of space! We have a wide demographic here at SG, with members of all ages, sizes, and skill sets. This is a place for the misfits. While we have a huge sense of family and community here, people are also respectful of your space if you just need to knuckle down and get the work done.
  • Do you have child minding services / can I bring my child?
    We do not have child minding at Strong Geelong. However, you are more than welcome to bring your children if they are in a pram or can be seated on the couches up the back of the gym. Kids are welcome as long as they aren’t climbing on the equipment!
  • What are the age restrictions of the membership, can minors join?
    Young teens over 12 years old may attend Strong Geelong if they have a guardian or coach present with them. Teenagers above 16 can be independent members. This is a great age to start! We have a few 16-17 year old members who come in after school and love it.
  • When is the quietest time to visit Strong Geelong?
    Once you are a member and can come after staffed hours, some of the quieter times include weekdays between 7 am-10 am, and early afternoon. The gym is at its busiest between 5pm 7 pm, especially at the start of the week. It is pretty quiet on weekends except for late mornings on Saturdays (10 am-12 pm).
  • Where can I update my billing/personal details?
    Once you are a member, you will have access to the Member Portal, where you can log in and update your details. If you have any questions or need to suspend your membership, please contact our friendly staff at stronggeelong@gmail.com.
  • Are there any joining fees, hold fees, or cancellation fees?
    There's a one-time $50 fee for your 24/7 key tag (fob), but no pesky signup fees. We're all about flexibility—holding your membership is free, and cancellation only requires seven days' notice with no extra charges.
